Charlie Allen is a London-born and based designer and third generation fully-trained tailor. He went to the Chelsea School of Art, followed by two years studying menswear at the Royal College of Art. His first collection sold internationally, he won the International Linen Designer of the Year award and was head of menswear at the RCA from 1994 to 1997.
Having established himself as a leading UK bespoke tailor, he opened the Charlie Allen Menswear Company in Islington in 1992 a shop renovated, designed and decorated by Charlie himself. Since then his client base has grown through word of mouth and coverage in GQ, Arena, FHM, LíUomo Vogue and many other consumer and trade publications.
As a designer Charlie has worked with Austin Reed, BG, Katherine Hamnett, George Davies Partnership, BHS, John Lewis, Takaoka, Umbro, George, and many others.
